Tony Cliftones was made up in late 2009 by Alex Lefonz and Lucian Naste from Melting Carousel, a short-lived but considerably successful band from Timisoara, Romania together with Adi Floyd and Mihai Moldoveanu.

The Eternal Shininess of the Spotless Blind was recorded in 2010 and is the band's only release.
